IOR (I.O.R.) stands for Industry/Industrial Optics Romania, a manufacturer which has been producing precision optics since 1936, being one of the largest producers of military optics in the world.

A long time now, I.O.R. has cooperated with companies such as Carl Zeiss, Leica and others. Their lenses are manufactured in Romania from optical glass produced by Schott Glasswerk - owned by Carl Zeiss - glass that is considered as the finest in the world. The lenses have a special coating and anti-reflex treatments to eliminate glare and maximize light transmission.

I.O.R. produces very traditional European-style porro prism military binoculars. Some models, military-grade, have rubber armoring, objective lens covers, rubber eyecups and are water- and fogproof.

The IOR 7x40 2B/GA military-grade binoculars are designed for distant observation in all weather conditions and in temperatures ranging from -40° to +140° F.

New IOR 7x40 2B/GA Rangefinder Binocular
The IOR 7x40 2B/GA military-grade rangefinding binoculars are designed for distant observation in all weather conditions and in temperatures ranging from -40° to +140° F. Their bodies are protected from shock, abrasion and the elements by non-slip rubber sleeves. Their objective lenses are protected by two-piece polymer covers which are hinged and contain amber low-light filters. In twilight or hazy conditions, these filters conveniently snap over the ocular lenses to provide sharper contrast as well as a brighter view of the target.
Other features include the same as above. Additional features of the 7x Rangefinding Reticle are:

- Vertical bars are spaced 10 mils apart
- Center and outermost vertical bars are 5 mils high (18" at 100m)
- Medium sized vertical bars are 2.5 mils high (18" at 200m)
- Small vertical bars are 1.25 mils high (18" at 400m)
- Bottom scale represents 24 inches in height at 200, 400, 600 and 800 m distances
